Specific Man will never Believe
May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and he ˹himself˺ perish! Neither his wealth nor ˹worldly˺ gains will benefit him. He will burn in a flaming Fire, and ˹so will˺ his wife, the carrier of ˹thorny˺ kindling, around her neck will be a rope of palm-fibre.
Abu Lahab was one of the most hostile opponents of Islam in its early years. He insulted, and mocked the prophet. His wife used to spread thorns in the Prophet’s path to injure him.
Allah condemned Abū Lahab and promised he would die a disbeliever and he will be in hell fire.
Abu Lahab lived for " 10 years after this chapter was revealed and recited publicly ".
Abu Lahab could easily falsified the Quran by pretending to accept Islam. It would look like a contradiction that the Quran says he will die as a disbeliever, but he is now claiming Islam. That could have made all people doubt the Quran and leave Islam.
If he really wanted to prove Prophet Muhammad ﷺ wrong, the easiest thing would have been to just say “I believe” even if he didn’t mean it in his heart.
But he never even tried. And he died as non believer as the Quran said.
How could the Prophet ﷺ declare with certainty that Abu Lahab would never believe unless it was revealed by Allah, who knows the unseen?
